Overview

Join us in supporting Josh Hutchinson, Treasurer of End Witch Hunts, and Sarah Jack, President and Executive Director, as they embark on a significant journey to the United Kingdom. The research, international networking, and interviews gained from this trip will provide invaluable educational content for the podcast, enhance online education pages, and enrich local in-person presentations.

Why Josh and Sarah need to go

As the creators of Witch Hunt, the leading podcast of witch trials and witch-hunts, as well as  leaders of the Massachusetts Witch Hunt Justice Project, the Connecticut Witch Trial Exoneration Project, and the World Without Witch Hunts project, Josh and Sarah are dedicated to addressing harmful practices and supporting advocates working to end violence related to witchcraft accusations around the world.

The Conferences

Magic and Witchcraft Conference 2024, University of York, York England

International Conference on Witchcraft and Human Rights, Lancaster University, Lancaster, England

This September, Josh and Sarah will travel to Lancaster and York to participate in prestigious university conferences. This trip offers a unique opportunity to learn from and share insights with witch trial history experts and international advocates against modern witchcraft accusation-related violence and other harmful practices.

These conferences and the networking which will take place present Josh and Sarah with the opportunity to create a large volume of informed content for the podcast and End Witch Hunts’ education and advocacy projects, allowing them to conduct research into early modern witch trials and modern harmful practices. Josh and Sarah will also present on End Witch Hunts’ recent work in New England, particularly the historic and landmark legislation in Connecticut that formally absolved the witch trial victims of the Connecticut Colony: HJ 34, A Resolution Concerning Certain Witchcraft Convictions In Colonial Connecticut.

Photo Exhibit

At the Lancaster conference, the International Network Against Accusations of Witchcraft and Associated Harmful Practice will debut a photo exhibit focusing on accusations of witchcraft and associated harmful practices across the globe.  This exhibit will also be traveling internationally to raise awareness. Three photos taken by Josh are featured in the exhibit, and it would be incredibly meaningful for him to be present at its reveal.

Trip Significance

This trip marks End Witch Hunts' first opportunity to connect with the international network of advocates in person, including many Witch Hunt podcast guests who Josh and Sarah will be meeting face-to-face for the first time. By contributing to this fundraiser, you are supporting a vital effort to build advocacy awareness and partnerships between the U. S. and international networks, promote historical witch hunt education, and strengthen global efforts against modern witch hunt violence.

You can help make this happen

Help us make this journey possible and continue the fight for justice and awareness. These connections and insights will significantly contribute to our mission, ensuring that the knowledge and experiences shared will continue to educate and inspire both our online audience and local communities.
