The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is an international organization which constitutes the world's largest humanitarian network that is composed and governed by its 192 Red Cross Red Crescent national societies members. Its objective is to "inspire, encourage, facilitate and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by the National Societies, with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of peace in the world." It reaches 150 million people through the work of nearly 15 million volunteers. Together, we act before, during and after disasters and health emergencies to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people. We do so without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions.
