Food Recovery Network, Inc.

Food Recovery Network (FRN) is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit that unites 8,000+ college students, food suppliers, and local businesses in the fight against hunger by recovering surplus food from across the supply chain and donating it to community organizations that feed people experiencing hunger across the U.S. Founded in 2011 by a group of college students at the University of Maryland, FRN has now grown into the largest student-led movement recovering surplus food to end hunger in the U.S. with programs on 200 college campuses and 100 food businesses nationwide. To date, our nationwide network has recovered more than 24.9 million pounds of food – the equivalent of 20.8 million meals donated to individuals and families experiencing hunger across the U.S., and 8,484 metric tons of CO2e emissions prevented. We seek to recover surplus food to feed everyone experiencing hunger in the U.S.
